Bedizzole is a town in Brescia's large and great province that can boast an absolutely unique location and atmosphere. Its position makes it the gate to Lake Garda, Italy's largest lake, with which it shares the climate and the lively and dynamic atmosphere without, however, all of the traffic and crowds that characterize it especially during the summer. Agriculture still plays an essential role in its economy and this explains the good degree of preservation of this area, which is the last outpost of Valtenesi, that is to say the hilly area overlooking the lake's banks in the province of Brescia. This is a land that produces great wines (protected by the Garda Classico DOC mark), an extra virgin olive oil whose superior quality is renowned the world over as well as superb cooked and salted meats, cheeses, flour, truffles and honey: a complete range of food products that play the starring role in many wine and gastronomical events held during the year. Bedizzole is a strategic starting point for anyone who wishes to experience and have a taste of Lake Garda, Brescia and its marvelous surroundings, and of the many cities of art in Lombardy and Veneto without ever having to renounce the peace and quiet typical of an ancient rural village.
BORGHETTO: A VILLAGE, A FARMHOUSE, A MODERN AGRI-TOURISM FARM
Macesina is one of the small villages of the Municipality of Bedizzole. Time here seems to have come to a standstill and the frenzy of modern-life is unknown. Its origins reach far back in time. This almost self-sufficient village has its own church and at its highest point stands a typical Lombard farmhouse called il Borghetto dating back to the 15th century. In the course of time it has come to take on the same name as the village. Over the past 5 years the farmstead has undergone a series of major conservation works, which have maintained the old construction's typical features while adapting it to meet modern needs. The result of this project is the Macesina agri-tourism farm, a small haven of relax, well-being and good living, where the tradition, culture and history of a land are skillfully blended with modern comforts.
Marked by their fascinating shades of color, the rooms of the Macesina agri-tourism farm are the ideal union between ancient and modern: they all preserve the spirit, layout, naturalness, and charm of farm life in the days of yonder, while being attentive to the needs of the most watchful and demanding traveler. They offer a total of 12 beds in double and triple bedrooms furnished with great attention and according to the area's typical style. The rooms all have spacious private bathrooms with a full array of comforts (shower, hairdryer, towel warmers, and bathrobes), color TV, independent air-conditioning, safe and wi-fi Internet connection.
Macesina, with its 5 rooms, offers exclusive accommodations with bed and breakfast for a select group of guests, who will have access to the private parking space, the wellness center and a wide assortment of typical products by local farms ranging from wine to jams, honey to flour. All around, the green and quiet of a private park with swimming pool, fruit trees, scented shrubs and olive trees and a relax area with a pond and a gazebo for reading where the guests can enjoy all the peaceful serenity of Brescia's countryside. And those who wish to experience and obtain first-hand knowledge of the countryside can take the small trail, which leads after a short walk of a few minutes into the Fiume Chiese Park, the nesting place of the grey heron.
